MEET OUR PRESENTERS 

Sadeen Alsabbagh

Sadeen Alsabbagh ia a senior completing her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Data Science at Beloit College, WI. Her journey with the Analytics Services team at St. Jude Research Hospital began as a summer intern in 2023, and she's been fortunate to continue as a student worker. Her interests are deeply rooted in the realm of technology within healthcare and optimization applications, and she takes great pleasure in continually expanding her knowledge in these areas.

Sandra Arreola

Sandra Arreola is the primary architect behind CCMCN's Honeycomb Community Data Network with Data Vaults, adapting Snowflake’s unique hierarchical access roles alongside master person indexing and organizational population identification to develop a secure method of sharing patient level data across systems.  Sandra brings over 12 years of experience working with healthcare data, unifying diverse data sources to support clinical quality measures, care coordination activities, and community driven initiatives.

Ishwarya Balasubramanian

Ishwarya is a decision support manager with University of Utah Health. She holds a Master’s degree in Information systems and is certified in Business Analytics. She is passionate about using data to drive decision-making and is committed to staying up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the field of business and healthcare analytics.

Audrey Barick

Audrey Barick, MPH is a Business Systems Analyst on the DataWorks and Health Information Exchange team with Michigan Medicine’s Health Information Technology and Services. Her work supports health information exchange within the State of Michigan, as well as data governance through enterprise-focused projects. Audrey joined the DataWorks/HIE team in early 2022 and previously worked in human subjects research project management at the University of Michigan. In her spare time, Audrey enjoys gardening, gaming, and baking treats for her friends and family.

Eliane Bischoff

Eliane Bischoff is a software engineer at Children's Hospital Colorado since 2019 working exclusively with the Heart Institute. Her dedication to data science dates back to her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland when she was immersed in neural networking and genetic algorithms at her MSc in Electrical Engineering. She pursued her latest MSc degree in business analytics at the University of Colorado.

Amulya Boppana

Amulya has deep interest in Patient Satisfaction as she has been working with Press Ganey Data and also patient portal data for last 10 years. She has played a critical role at the hospital for providing her technical insight for analyzing Patient Satisfaction data to the providers, nurses and leaders across various verticals.

Nikolay Braykov

Nikolay is the manager of Advanced Analytics at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. His team supports operational and quality data science requests for the system. Nikolay's background is in public health, statistics and technology consulting. In his free time he likes to bike and hike.

Bethene Britt

Dr. Britt is a Senior Director of Data & AI for Pivot Point Consulting, providing leadership and consulting in the transformation of health system data strategies. She has successfully led the implementation of healthcare warehouses, BI tools and predictive analytics capabilities, including governance for the implementation of real-time clinical predictive models. Dr. Britt holds a PhD in Machine Learning from Washington State University and is a Certified Data Management Professional. She has served on Advisory Councils at UW, Microsoft, published in various journals/books and spoken at conferences and seminars, including recently at Epic UGM, UW Medical AI Forum and Stanford Institute.

Michael Bromley

Michael Bromley is a Data Scientist at the Cleveland Clinic, where he brings nearly a decade of healthcare experience to his role. Holding a BS in Actuarial Science from Ohio State University, Michael has contributed to a broad range of projects, including COVID-19 hospital surge projections and early sepsis detection during inpatient stays, among many others. His literary interest extends to The Wheel of Time book series, which he considers his favorite.

Ian Brooks

Dr. Brooks is Director of Health Data Compass in the CU Anschutz Office of Research Informatics, and Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics in the CU School of Medicine. Health Data Compass is the clinical data warehouse of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus and is fully located in the Google Cloud. Dr. Brooks faculty research is focused on mHealth and health IT solutions for underserved patients in care management and healthcare navigation.

Christine Brower

Ms. Brower works in Enterprise Data and Analytics at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Information Systems Division, as a Research Product Manager. She received her MBA from the Simon School at the University of Rochester and her MPH from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She has worked in research for over 30 years. Her team's current projects include the development of a Research Data Warehouse (Denodo infrastructure), the creation of an on-premise and cloud secure research compute enclave (SERDA: Secure Environment for Research Data Analytics), and the implementation of the OMOP common data model.

Nitant Chakranarayan

Nitant Chakranarayan is the Analytics Director at Houston Methodist Hospital. Houston Methodist is comprised of a flagship teaching hospital, a top-ranked research institute, seven community hospitals and 1200 Physicians serving the greater Houston area. Nitant has over 20 years’ experience in deploying large Analytics solutions in healthcare, hi-tech, finance and retail. Nitant received his M.S. from the University of Texas-Arlington in Management Information Systems. In the past he has presented at the Healthcare Data Analytics Association (HDAA), Healthcare Industry User Group (HIUG), Oracle OpenWorld and Hewlett Packard Technology Conference

Kritika Chauhan

Kritika Chauhan is working as a Business Intelligence Developer at UI Health from almost past 5 years. We have created a custom SANDPO Slicerdicer Data Model by extending Epic Clarity data into custom caboodle DMC to improve OR operations. We are happy to be here and share our experience of creating a new DMC to create s new slicerdicer data model.

Anupama Chawla

Anu joined AHS in 2019 as Director of Analytics for Edmonton zone and feels very lucky to be part of this amazing team. This role involves the line management and leadership of zone Analytics team and is responsible for operational data and analytics including extracting data from various healthcare systems, analytics, providing meaningful data to all the relevant stakeholders across Edmonton zone and provincially including operational leaders, physicians, unit managers, nurses etc. She aims to support improvement in service delivery, provide right information to right people at right time to make decisions and directly influence the quality of care and patient outcomes. She has worked in various roles in Data and Analytics across National Health Services (NHS) UK and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) before moving to Alberta in August 2019. She has presented her and team's work at various international conferences including international conference for quality and Safety, International Conference for Emergency Medicine, Healthcare Data and Analytics Association etc. Anu did her master’s in health services management from University of Warwick in 2015 and is certified Prince 2 Practitioner. She is passionate for healthcare data and believes that this is the most valuable data available on the planet and can directly influence the quality of care provided to patients. And loves to interact with people from different cultures and backgrounds and plays badminton in her free time and work as a driver to her very busy kids.

Faith Chen

Faith Chen is a passionate healthcare IT professional with a deep understanding and extensive experience of the EMR/EHR, Data Analytic and Integration, NLP, Microsoft and Cloud technologies. She holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Houston. She has worked at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for over 12 years, supporting company’s business, clinical, research with her expertise in IS. One of her recent accomplishments including a project where she leveraged Microsoft Azure Cognitive service to extract useful patient information from scanned documents. It involved dealing with complex patient survey form including handwriting, varying selections, multiple types of layouts.

Le Chen

Le Chen is a Business Intelligence Analyst with more than 10 years of experience. Currently, Le is a part of the Enterprise Analytics team at Memorial Hermann, where she collaborates with various departments to design customized dashboards that provide valuable insights into business operations. With her expertise in data analytics and visualization, Le has successfully enabled stakeholders to make informed and data-driven strategic decisions.

Jazreel Cheung

Jazreel is a Data Instructional Specialist in the Data Literacy Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Her work is focused on developing curricula, leading training, and optimizing data processes to propel data-driven culture at CHOP. Prior to her current role, she served as a data analyst supporting quality improvement projects at CHOP and worked in healthcare consulting at Analysis Group. Jazreel holds a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego.

Sharad Choudhary

Sharad had been working with Healthcare data for the last 20 years and doesn't like what he does but he LOVES what he does. He loves to transform the data into Information. Sharad has built 100's of dashboards, metrics and reports and was formally recognized for his exemplary work during COVID as he was recognized by the Chancellor of the University along with the front line workers.

Jeffery Clark

Jeff Clark is the Director of Analytics Services as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Jeff has 15 years of experience in the healthcare analytics space, and has worked in various development and leadership roles with a number of healthcare organizations across the U.S., including Kaiser, University of Michigan, Scripps Health, and Northwestern Medicine.

Leremy Colf

Dr. Leremy Colf is an Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and holds the Donna L. Wong Professorship in Pediatric Nursing at the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing. He is also a Senior Advisor and Research Liaison, Health Informatics with the OU Health hospital and healthcare system. He focuses on health policy, health outcomes research, data-driven decision making in healthcare, and teaching in the Ph.D. program. He is also a senior fellow with the University of Oklahoma Center for Intelligence and National Security.

Adriana Collings

Adriana Collings is a senior developer in the Analytics Resource Center at Children's Hospital Colorado, who supports both inpatient clinical departments as well as the Pediatric Mental Health Institute. She has 5 years of experience in health care data analytics and has her master's degree in public health from Yale University.

Shawn Coppola

Shawn Coppola, MBA is a Senior Business Systems Analyst on the DataWorks and Health Information Exchange team with Michigan Medicine's Health Information Technology and Services. Shawn’s work supports data governance and health information exchange within the State of Michigan. Previously, he helped launch the Data Concierge service at Michigan Medicine, which connects customers with data-related resources throughout the institution.

Candice Crawford

Candice Crawford is the Sr. Decision Support Director at University of Utah Health. She leads the centralized analytics team which supports the organization in all finical, clinical, and operational analytics. Candice has an MBA and came to analytics from investment banking. She has worked in health care analytics for the past 12 years and has enjoyed watching University of Utah Health evolve in advanced analytics and data literacy.

Sribatsa Das

Sribatsa Das is a Principal Data Engineer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He has 30 years of experience in data and analytics across industries. His focuses on AWS Cloud Adoption. He holds a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science and MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. Sribatsa is a certified Project Management Professional from 2002. He hold AWS Solution Architect Professional, Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Security Specializations in AWS.

Sara Deakyne Davies

Sara Deakyne Davies currently serves as the Director of Research Informatics and Data Science at Children's Hospital Colorado. Sara has been working in informatics for the last 14 years, starting off as an analyst and statistician and moving into a leadership role at Children's Hospital Colorado in 2013. Sara is currently the Children's Colorado site Informatics Lead for PEDSnet and PCORnet, and serves on the Data Committee for both networks. Sara's interests are in informatics to support research and implementation into clinical workflows.

Christina Depena

Christina Depena is a Senior IT Data Analyst for the Houston Methodist Physician Organization and joined the organization in 2021. As a data analyst, she has successfully completed hundreds of ad-hoc analysis that drive day-to-day business operations and decisions, lead several projects including the first Advanced Practice Provider (APP) dashboard in the organization’s existence, and was also the analyst to discover and announce the one millionth COVID-19 vaccine milestone at Houston Methodist. Christina holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Mathematics, and an Elements of Computing Certification from the University of Texas at Austin.

Liz Downs

Matt Fedderson

Matt Fedderson is a Financial Data Warehouse Engineer within the Enterprise Data Warehouse department. He has 15 years’ worth of business healthcare experience within the following roles and responsibilities: database management, cost accounting, hospital pricing (CDM), hospital statistics, financial and clinical data analysis, and medical coding. He enjoys automating processes, auditing, and playing around with financial numbers.

Courtney Ferguson

Courtney is a Registered Nurse (RN) turned Senior Project Manager and a graduate of the University of Toronto, Master of Health Informatics program. Over the last 15 years, Courtney has worked closely with various departments across the University Health Network to implement and optimize new processes and systems directly impacting patients and employees. Today Courtney works as an integral member of the Digital Patient Experience team, focussing on the implementation of patient centric systems and processes in order to improve the patient experience. She is very passionate about the future of the health care system and is extremely interested in the optimization of clinical tools and processes with the use of analytics.

David Ferraiolo

Roopa Foulger

Roopa Foulger is the Vice President of Digital Innovation Development for OSF HealthCare and has been with the organization since 2009. With 25 years of experience in data and enterprise information management, analytics and product development, Roopa drives technology strategy for the health care system’s digital transformation. She is also the research lead of the OSF Innovation Data and Advanced Informatics Lab, building adjacent and breakthrough solutions in data science and artificial intelligence (AI). Her work includes projects aimed at addressing cancer, promoting health equity and finding solutions for chronic disease conditions.

Christopher Greer

Christopher is a data scientist at Children's Colorado where he has supporting a range of modeling initiatives since 2019. Most recently, he has focused on the machine-learning engineering needed to support custom models running in Epic. In a past life, he worked as a research astronomer at various observatories around the world.

Michael Gurley

Administrative Director of Cancer Informatics at the Lurie Cancer Center of Northwestern University. Cancer Informaticist with over 15 years of experience aggregating, normalizing, and delivering data for cancer research. Co-author of the OHDSI Oncology Extension and the OHDIS NLP Extension Proposal. Co-lead of the OHDSH Oncology Working Group. Lead developer of OMOP-Abstractor, an NLP-aided chart abstraction platform built on top of OMOP.

Jonathan Handler

Jonathan Handler, MD, FACEP, FAMIA is the Senior Fellow for Innovation at OSF HealthCare and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Handler is board-certified in Emergency Medicine as well as Clinical Informatics. He has previously served as the Chief Deployment Architect at Microsoft’s Health Solutions Group, Vice President of Digital Innovation at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Chief Medical Information Officer at M*Modal, Director of Emergency Medicine Research and Informatics at Northwestern University, and Director of Development at the National Institute for Medical Informatics at Medstar Health.

Troy Heninger

Troy Heninger, CDMP, is a highly skilled data management professional with extensive experience in the field. Troy is the Director of Data Governance and Data Quality at St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho. Troy started working in data governance while at Micron Technology and, after several years, moved from semiconductors to healthcare. Troy is always eager to share his knowledge and expertise with others, and helping to achieve their goals. When not working, Troy enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the great outdoors through fishing, camping, and hiking. Troy received his Bachelor‘s of Business Administration from Boise State University and is a proud father of three.

Daniel Hickman

Daniel "Dan" Hickman stands at the forefront of operational innovation with an impressive tenure spanning over two decades. As a proud husband and father of two and an industrious Industrial Engineer, he currently spearheads initiatives as a Solution Architect at Children's Hospital Colorado. Passionate about harnessing the power of systems thinking and simulation, Dan specializes in identifying and remedying operational inefficiencies, with a particular emphasis on healthcare.

His groundbreaking approaches to capacity problem-solving through simulation are testimonies to his expertise and commitment. Beyond his current role, Dan has been a pivotal figure in multiple industries ranging from pharmaceuticals and healthcare to the Department of Defense and manufacturing. His contributions as a Senior Executive Officer and Board Member have been invaluable, utilizing predictive analysis to enhance processes and deliver cutting-edge technology solutions.

Michael Horvath

Michael joined Wake Forest in 2010 and is the Lead Programmer on the Informatics Team. He oversees the design and architecture of software applications by the team as well as leads efforts to expand and improve the TDW and its related tools and content with a particular focus on clinical terminology standards and ontologies. He was instrumental in the initial implementation of the Translational Data Warehouse at Wake Forest as well as the national pilot for the first Shrine based data sharing network. Michael received his bachelors and masters degrees in Computer Science from Wake Forest.

Richard Hoyt

Richard has been working on data for healthcare for more than 20 years. He has been involved in data migration, master data management, dashboards, reporting, governance, and administration for multiple organizations. At Nationwide Children's Hospital, he leads the Enterprise Data Services, Business Intelligence, and Database Administration teams. He leads the NCH data community of practice. He enjoys when people have their "a-ha" moment with data.

Kevin Huynh

Kevin Huynh is a Data Scientist specializing in healthcare analytics. With a passion for improving the healthcare landscape, Kevin is dedicated to leveraging high quality analytics to reduce the cost of healthcare while improving patient outcomes. With over 5 years of experience in the healthcare space, Kevin's data-driven approach and healthcare data expertise has enabled healthcare providers to make informed decisions, optimize resource allocation, and deliver higher-quality care to patients.

At Health Catalyst, Kevin is recognized for his proficiency in Healthcare.AI, a suite of self-service AI tools to enhance decision making, and Touchstone, a benchmarking product used to evaluate performance and identify opportunities. Previously, he has worked for Intermountain Healthcare, focusing on supply chain analytics. His work in these areas has been instrumental in driving innovation and improving healthcare practices.

Kenzie Jacobs

Kenzie Jacobs is one of the managers within the Analytics Resource Center at Children's Hospital Colorado. During her years working at Epic to implement OpTime and Anesthesia applications, Kenzie learned the critical importance of effective change management, communication, and building personal relationships to accomplish goals in the office and hospital. In her current role at Children's she supports the People Analytics HR data team, the data capture team, the training and documentation teams, the program management team, and the data visualization admin teams.

Robert Jarve

Dr. Jarve is the Associate Chief Medical Information Officer for Population Health at Corewell Health, leading the population health management informatics and analytics strategy. He leads the development of Corewell Health’s population health data model, reporting needs, and predictive and prescriptive analytics. He is board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine. He completed his undergraduate training and his masters in cell biology at Michigan State University; his medical school and residency training at Wayne State University; and his MBA from Grand Valley State University. Dr. Jarve enjoys computer programming, traveling, hiking, and spending time with his wife and two boys.

Jason Jones

Chief Analytics Officer and Chief Data Science Officer 

Jason Jones is passionate about achieving the Quadruple Aim through better and easier use of data in healthcare, including helping organizations to find analytic focus; helping providers feel that the systems they work for have their backs; and helping people to understand and have their goals and preferences respected for the hopefully brief periods during which they are “patients.” 

Previously, Jones served as Vice President, Information Support for Care Transformation, at Kaiser Permanente (KP). In that capacity, he brought together and co-led the national Hospital and Healthplan Quality and Finance analytic functions and led development of national quality strategy and care delivery IT investments. Prior to that, he was KP’s Executive Director of Clinical Intelligence and Decision Support and a Research Scientist in KP’s Southern California region. 

Before joining KP, Jones was a Senior Medical Informaticist for Intermountain Healthcare. He also held analytic and marketing positions at Bayer Healthcare in Wayne, N.J., and Ingenix (now Optum) Pharmaceutical Information Products in Salt Lake City, where he developed a model for converting United Healthcare data into a saleable asset for external customers conducting outcomes research. Throughout his career, Jones has taught graduate courses in statistics to medical informaticists at the University of Southern California and at the University of Utah. He has published dozens of peer-reviewed papers in medicine, predictive modeling, and outcomes improvement.

Sankareshwari Kalyanasundaram

Shankari Kalyanasundaram is a healthcare professional working as a Data Analyst II at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis TN specializing in Epic Reporting specifically in Clinical Data Analytics. Shankari graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Computer Science and a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems. She has 4 years of experience in healthcare. Her expertise is in data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization. In her free time, Shankari enjoys gardening, dancing, and home DIYs.

Trey Kell

Graduating from The University of Arkansas in 1999 with a degree in microbiology Trey Kell Joined The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center the same year. Initially working to support clinical research he moved to the Institutional Analytics group in 2014 to work with the Natural Language Processing group with a goal to help facilitate research usage of data locked up in unstructured sources. In 2016 he moved to the principal analyst and supervisor role for the group. Since then he has worked with the group to support the Business, Clinical and Research divisions of the institution.

Shaindel Kestenberg

Shaindel is the Manager of Health Services (formally Occupational Health) at University Health Network (UHN). She has worked at UHN for five years, first an Advanced Practice Nurse Educator, and then in May 2020 she was redeployed to work with Occupational Health in the COVID-19 Centre and assumed the role as Clinical Lead for the COVID-19 Centre. In this role Shaindel worked closely with the OH leadership to develop policies and streamline processes such as implementing electronic documentation, developing employee tracking tools, as well as scheduling and coordinating activities for the OH COVID-19 Testing Clinics, Vaccination Clinics, and Call Centre. Prior to working at UHN, Shaindel worked at North York General Hospital where she was the Clinical Nurse Educator for the Operating Room and multiple procedural departments. Shaindel has a Master of Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University (formally Ryerson University) in 2015; and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mcmaster University.

Sameer Khan

Leslie Kian

Leslie has been a HDAA member since 2003 representing MD Anderson Cancer Center as Director of Medical Informatics. He was one of the first five hospital members. Leslie’s department was responsible for building MD Anderson’s first data warehouse, as well as creating a centralized data analytics team. He also played roles in information technology, hospital and clinical operations, and patient care which included the departments of clinical ethics, performance improvement and patient experience. Leslie spent the last few years directing healthcare projects for a local Meals on Wheels program serving the Greater Houston senior community. His presentation is one example of those efforts.

Aaron Klotnia

Aaron is an AWS Solutions Architect focused on helping customers within the healthcare industry to achieve better patient and organizational outcomes through the use of cloud technology.

Pratibha Kota

Pratibha Kota is the IT Systems Manager at the Houston Methodist Physician Organization in Houston, Texas. Houston Methodist is comprised of a flagship teaching hospital, a top ranked research Institute in the Texas Medical Center and seven Community Hospitals serving the greater Houston Area. Since joining Houston Methodist in 2020, she has led multiple projects of high visualization and worked with the team to provide the analytical needs of the Organization. Pratibha has received her Master of Science from Oklahoma State University in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She has over 12 years of analytical experience in the HealthCare Industry.

Patrick Kovalik

Patrick Kovalik is an Industry Principal for the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice at Snowflake, focusing on solutions and strategies for the payer and provider segments. He has spent his career delivering innovative solutions, process improvement, and data management initiatives for data-driven business decisions. Prior to joining Snowflake, Patrick spent 10 years leading operations, data management, and analytics for the Texas health plan within a Fortune 50 managed care organization, connecting business leaders to data for improved care management.

Jennifer Kreuter

Jennifer Kreuter is in her second year as the Clinical Nurse Database Coordinator for the PC4/PAC3 national registries. In her time in this role, she has helped the team get caught up with data entry and become an expert in the data definitions and uses of data fields for these registries. She has also collaborated with ARC to try to work toward more timely and accurate data abstraction. Prior to transitioning to the database coordinator role, Jennifer was a bedside nurse in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit for 15 years. Her bedside experience helped to make her transition to abstracting and understanding data fields seamless. Jennifer attended the University of Wyoming, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Gregory Kuhnen

Greg Kuhnen helps lead UNC Health's EADS group, responsible for using analytics to improve quality, efficiency, patient satisfaction, and provider experience. In prior roles, Greg led the Advisory Board’s research programs in analytics, interoperability, and mobile technologies. Greg joined Advisory Board through the acquisition of Care Team Connect where he was Chief Technology Officer. He served as Lead Architect for Axolotl the Axolotl Health Information Exchange and as an engineering leader at Oracle. Greg holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT. He shares his passion for innovation by mentoring first time entrepreneurs in his community.

Josh Lewis

Josh Lewis is a Data Analyst with Intermountain Health where he focuses specifically on surgical data. He he has a bachelor's in Finance from Brigham Young University and a Master's in Healthcare Administration from University of North Carolina. He loves finding clever ways to get around issues and hopes to share a few of those with you now.

Swan Bee Liu

Swan Bee Liu is the manager of the Data Collaboration team which is part of IT Research & Innovation at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. With 20+ years of research experience, she heads a team of developers and data analysts with extensive clinical research and trial data management experience to host or support multisite data collaborations. The team manages end-to-end data solutions across various platforms - from data collection, extraction to de-identification, supports multisite clinical research and oversee the ingestion and archival of streaming bedside monitor data and making these high-resolution data available for research, QI, and clinical care.

Donna Logan

She has dedicated her time at Emory analyzing data and providing interactive visual solutions to end users, be it an executive or analyst. Prior to Emory University, she worked as a Knowledge & Insights Consultant for The Coca-Cola Company and as an HR Analyst for Volkswagen Group of America. Liz has a knack for all things research, data, and analytics but is most passionate about data visualization. To her, data visualization is the perfect union of art and science and allows the consumer, be it an executive or an analyst, to identify patterns and trends quickly. When Liz isn't developing dashboards or telling stories with data, she spends her time fly fishing, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

Kate Lusczakoski 

Dr. Kate Lusczakoski is a leader in the innovation of technology in health science and is currently the global lead of healthcare and life science AI solutions at Google Cloud.  Before joining Google, Kate has held key leadership roles in enterprise software strategy, solutions, value engineering/value practice, modernizing health science data science/AI consulting and enablement . Dr. Lusczakoski was an adjunct faculty member at University of Colorado Health Sciences and the University of Northern Colorado, teaching courses in applied statistics and  research methods and serving as a research advisor for numerous grant and private funded innovative health sciences projects. She has served as a statistical consultant, as well as being a  scientific fellow at Dassault Systemes, BIOVIA. As a co-founder of a healthcare startup, Preventative Technology Solutions, she is active in the health technology startup community in Colorado. 

Sabrina Martinez

Sabrina Martinez is the workforce analytics & reporting manager for Memorial Hermann. Prior to this she held a myriad of HR roles in functions such as benefits, recruiting, employee engagement and workforce planning. A dedicated volunteer, she serves as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Swarthmore College. She also volunteers for 8 different theatres, Sight into Sound radio, the League of Women Voters, the Houston Sports Authority and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She received the Presidential Service Award every year since 2014 for her volunteer hours. She earned a B.S. in engineering from Swarthmore and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

Abdul Rizwan Mohammed

As a versatile and success driven PMP certified professional, Abdul hase over 8 years of experience in IT/Project Management, Engineering, and Business Operations. Currently, I serve as a Business Intelligence Project Manager at Dell Medical School at UT Austin, managing business planning, strategic evaluations, and market analytics. He collaborates with Dell Medical School departments and external stakeholders to identify growth opportunities to support the development of Dell Medical School and partner programs. Abdul is leading Dell Medical School’s start-up on the Sg2 Analytics platform to oversee appropriate system builds to meet the school's analytic needs.

Rachini Moosavi

Rachini Moosavi, MHA, is the Vice President of Enterprise Analytics at UNC Health. She is passionate about empowering people, delivering value, and improving healthcare through analytics insights. Over her nearly twenty-year career in healthcare, Rachini has been a nursing assistant, patient throughput consultant, revenue cycle analyst and leader, and analytics executive. As the head of data & analytics at UNC Health and as a recent graduate of a Chief Data & Analytics Officer certificate program, Rachini leads the data and analytics enablement strategy for the health system; ensuring that healthcare transformation continues to be catalyzed by insights.

Luke Morris

Luke Morris is the Business Data Analyst for the Ruth and Harry Roman Emergency Department at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Before working in healthcare, Luke was a journalist for a decade, working for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, The Dallas Morning News, and, regrettably, Sinclair Broadcast Group for a few months. He has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Kansas, a master’s in Business Analytics from Merrimack College, and just completed a master’s in Health Delivery Science at Cedars-Sinai’s Graduate School for Biomedical Sciences, during which his capstone examined unconscious bias in physician treatment notes using NLP via tidymodels.

Mead Mulvihill

Mead joined BigBear in August of 2022 as a Customer Success Engineering supporting customers in implementing and realizing value with FutureFlow Rx. Prior to joining BigBear he spent 7+ years working at multiple large health systems in the Washington DC metro area in both continuous process improvement and operational leadership roles. During this team Mead led multiple large scale system wide initiatives focused on patient flow optimization, transfer/command center development, ancillary service scheduling & throughput improvements including imaging and infusion centers, and outpatient clinic and call center access. He also served as a Surgical Business Director, leading hospital efforts to optimize block scheduling, OR load balancing and surgical supply and implant management. 

Nicole Mushonga

Dr. Mushonga is the Executive Director of Health Equity at UNC Health, leading community health, accessibility and analytics. Dr. Mushonga joined UNC Health in 2022 from Wake Co. HHS, where she was the Interim Medical Director of Public Health. The division was recognized by the White House and NACCHO for equity programs addressing COVID-19. Prior to that she was an Epidemiologist for Kern Co. Public Health, leading Syphilis programs. A medical graduate of Indiana Univ. SOM, Dr. Mushonga was a Postdoctoral Fellow for Addictions and Health Disparities at the Univ. of Houston. She has a MS in Biomedical Science from Barry Univ. and a BS in Psychology from IUPUI.

She is now focusing on making big IT and Analytics projects happen. In her free time, you'll find Becca hiking in the foothills west of Denver or sharing a Twix with her husband at the top of one of Colorado's many 14,000ft mountains.

Bryan Nice

Bryan has crafted a remarkable career at the intersection of healthcare, public health, and data science. His achievements include contributing to Seattle Children's achieving HIMSS Level 7 recognition and innovating Kaiser Permanente's data product management with data mesh practices. These feats underscore Bryan's ability to optimize patient care through technology and data. He has also written public health interventions and policy briefs, and established cybersecurity guardrails for AI usage in clinical operations. Presently, Bryan collaborates with the University of Washington School of Public Health, ThoughtWorks, Kaiser Permanente, Seattle Children’s, and HDAA on data ethics for responsible AI. His work consistently prioritizes the patient journey, equitable healthcare outcomes, and population health analytics, demonstrating his commitment to patient-centric, equity-focused, and value-based outcomes in healthcare.

Brian Ostasiewski

Brian Ostasiewski is the Director of Research Informatics within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He has been with the organization for 13 years as they've grown from 3 hospitals to over 60. His teams manage the Advocate Health enterprise's data and warehouses for research studies and trials as well as participation in several multi-site Clinical Research Networks. As a leader in the Center for Biomedical Informatics he also instructs in the graduate school and runs internship programs for two dozen students a year.

Sallie Owens

Sallie Owens is a Lead Informatics Analyst with Emory University's Office of Information Technology Data Solutions team. She supports quality improvement and research initiatives for the GYN/OB division. She has extensive experience applying data analytics as a part of research, multi-disciplinary process improvement, and quality improvement project teams. She has represented the School of Medicine on the Emory Analytics Task Force and taught courses for the Emory Analyst Teach Analysts program. She received her Master of Public Health in Applied Public Health Informatics from Emory University.

Kelly O'Neil has greater than 10 years of experience in pediatric cardiac critical care nursing. She is currently the Manager of the Data Registries and Outcomes for the Heart Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado. Using her background in product development and leveraging the unique lessons she learned from top tech companies – Chai made a seamless transition to healthcare. She has had much success creating and improving the business process in data governance as a powerful tool for measuring data governance maturity, including a Data Release Review Council and Finance/HR Data Stewardship. Chai received her Master's degree in Business Administration from Boise State University. She is happily married to her husband Dennis and is a proud mother of four young adults.

Ashish Pagare

Ashish Pagare is the Epic Reporting/Cogito Manager at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis TN. He has been with St. Jude for last 19 years and has a total of 24 years of IT experience. He leads St Jude’s Reporting/Cogito team which consists of 10 employees and 5 contractors. His team is responsible for the implementation of the entire suite of Cogito applications inclusive of Radar Dashboards, Metrics, Reporting Workbench Reports, SlicerDicer, and various extracts. Prior to leading the Cogito team, Ashish was a business analyst and application manager in the IT department at St Jude. Apoorva Paralikar

Apoorva serves as Senior Project Leader, Performance Improvement working closely with quality and safety leaders across the organization to advance reliability and patient safety driven by data. She is a clinician by training and has practiced as a Clinical Microbiologist driving infectious disease diagnostics, and infection prevention and control. More recently, she has served as the Administrator of Behavioral Health Research leading complex multi-site clinical trials and projects in a safety-net hospital. Her global experiences in these roles and working with underserved populations fuel her passion to providing safe, quality, equitable, and accessible care to the communities we serve.

Denise Payne

Prior to joining Baptist Health South Florida, Denise’s last role was as a Senior Performance Partner in the Consulting and Advisor Services Division of Premier Inc. She has also served as the Patient Safety Officer and Clinical Quality Leader for a 400+ Level 2 Trauma Center in South Florida. Her responsibilities included the design and implementation of patient safety systems, regulatory and accreditation programs, process improvement, case management and social service programs, peer review processes, and infection prevention programs. Under her tenure in this position, the facility reduced patient harm by 36%: and continued improving annually for six consecutive years.

Beth Plotts is the Manager of the Departmental Information Delivery Team within the Health Information and Technology Services (HITS) department at Michigan Medicine. Prior to her role in management, Beth was a business intelligence analyst supporting several Revenue Cycle teams: Inpatient Coding, Cancer Registry, HIM Operations, et cetera. She has been at Michigan Medicine for just over 10 years. Beth has a master’s degree from George Washington University. She is the mother of two young children, and in her spare time she enjoys quilting.

Brian Pringle

Brian Pringle is a Digital Services Advisor for Supply Chain Management at Mayo Clinic. He has over 25 years of experience in analytics, database design, computer programming, and technology architecture. Brian’s experience in teaching undergraduate computer science and for online training platforms has been critical in his current role enabling a team of over 80 business users to perform their own analytics work. His current focus includes Supply Chain as a Service, API enablement, and digital analytics.

Michael Rannie

Mike Rannie serves as a Program Manager in the Analytics Resource Center at Children's Hospital Colorado. His experience in the nursing profession and healthcare analytics spans 30 years, during which he has served in a variety of clinical, analytical, and leadership roles.

Kelly Reichert

Kelly has been a pediatric critical care nurse for over 20 years at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She has led Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infection (CLABSI) Prevention work for the organization for 15 years. In Kelly’s role as a Patient Safety Improvement Specialist, she uses data to drive improvement and change.

Zenia Reyes-Bardelas

Prior to joining the corporate Quality & Accreditation Ops team, Zenia was responsible for the creation and maintenance of functional specs, design documents, configuration documentation for development and delivery of end user reports and other analytics projects. She works closely with clients and team members in the development and implementation of BI solutions o end users as a Business Intelligence Consultant 2. She previously worked in HR Recruitment in managing the full-life cycle recruitment process for assigned corporate areas at Baptist Health South is also part of the founding cohort of the Knight Foundation/Baptist Health South Florida Fellowship in Healthcare Tech.

Jan Riggins

Jan Riggins has been with Children's Hospital Colorado for over 20 years! She has a clinical background, as managed multiple physician groups, worked in IT to support radiology, and now is the Principal Trainer for ARC Academy. In her role as Principal Trainer Jan has developed and setup a world-class analytics training program. She designs curriculum, supports upgrades, teaches classes, develops tip sheets, runs user groups, and supports A LOT of people who have self-service and data questions.

Josh Roberts

Joshua Roberts is a Computer Scientist and Chief Architect for Next Generation Access Control (NGAC) related technologies and lead developer for the Secure Federated Data Sharing System (SFDS) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Over his nine years at NIST Mr. Roberts’ work pertained to the entire technology-transfer life cycle including publications, prototype development, product demonstrations, standards reference implementation, opensource distribution, and patent development.

Larisa Rodgers

Larisa Rodgers manages the operations of the Office of Informatics within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Since she joined the team in 2020 she has shepherded many changes to the process of requesting EHR data for research purposes, addressing the growth of both data available and researchers requesting it.

Deanna Rothwell is a leader in healthcare data analytics, with more than 30 years of experience transforming health data assets into data-informed decision-making and evidence-based research. As the Director of Analytics for The Ottawa Hospital and a Senior Investigator at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, Deanna is passionate about making data more accessible to leaders, researchers and innovators to improve healthcare outcomes, processes and costs. Liesje Sarnecki

Liesje Sarnecki studied Economics and Finance at the University of Alberta where she developed a passion for health economics and using data to tell a story. After university she started her career with Alberta Health Services in 2007 as a senior economist working in funding model development focusing on trends in and projections of health care expenditures. In 2012 she moved over to Data and Analytics and has remained on that team since. In this role she has spent time working on patient utilization models and projections, profiles of hospital services, and building tools to help decision makers and leaders them better understand patient populations and needs. Dr. Scahill is a pediatric cardiac intensivist at the Children's Hospital of Colorado. She is passionate about data driven outcomes, has helped to create a data pipeline within the Heart Institute, and is the clinical champion for multiple inpatient registries.

Jessica Scheffer

Jessica stumbled into her career in data by picking up new skills with over 10 years in healthcare quality and operations. She loves the process of untangling data to find insights. Jessica earned her MPH in 2013 and started in Healthcare Quality Improvement. From there, she found an interest in databases and coding and decided to pivot into Analytics.

Daniel Schneider

Daniel Schneider is the Director of Research Analytics within Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He is responsible for the overall strategic vision and direction of the research analytics team as well as its adherence to key initiatives and collaborations across the school of medicine. Dan has been with Northwestern since early 2009, and leads and mentors a core team of research data analysts, data scientists, and data architects. He has an M.S. in Computational Biology & Bioinformatics from Northwestern University and has been included in numerous publications related to healthcare analytics, bioinformatics, and complex disease trait mapping.

Mary Sefcik

Mary Sefcik is a Data Scientist at the Cleveland Clinic and has worked there for close to 5 years. Prior to that, she earned a BA in Mathematics from the College of Wooster and a MS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati. Mary has been involved in many projects for the organization including developing a Skilled Nursing Facility Length of Stay predictive model, simulations to project performance for the Value Based Contracts, and a variety of dashboarding, reporting, and analytics tools for population health initiatives.

Philip Silberman

Philip Silberman is the Manager of Research Analytics for Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He oversees a team of analysts that fulfill data requests relating to healthcare research, medical education and overall IRB operations. In addition, he focuses on process improvement, collaboration across other health system teams, and coding best practices. As the team of analysts grows, he is interested in expanding the use of data science and machine learning techniques and developing tools for effective data visualization. Philip has an M.A. in Mathematics from Indiana University-Bloomington and has been with Northwestern since 2015.

Valerie Smothers

Valerie Smothers is the Data Trust Administrator for Johns Hopkins Medicine. She provides leadership in the development of data governance policies, processes, and infrastructure for use across Johns Hopkins Medicine and coordinates across 8 Data Trust Analytic Teams and approximately 250 data analysts. Working with faculty and operational leaders, she manages processes to review the use of Johns Hopkins Medicine Data for research and quality improvement and serves as the point person for data governance operations and business intelligence workforce issues.

Suzanne Spencer

Suzanne has a background in healthcare administration and business administration and over two decades of experience leveraging analytics to improve patient outcomes, drive efficiency and eliminate disparities. Currently, she leads Hospital Analytics at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Trista Stuve-Gravenish

Trista Stuve-Gravenish is the Director of Data Stewardship in the Center for Digital Health at Mayo Clinic. Leveraging her years of experience in healthcare and analytics, Trista and her team are establishing data stewardship in alignment with data mesh strategies and metadata management best practices. This work helps ensure the consistent capture of information about data assets to advance Mayo Clinic’s ability understand and steward high-value data.

Martha Sylvia

Dr. Sylvia drives the synergy of clinical transformation and analytics to move healthcare beyond the challenges of today to a place where people from every walk of life thrive. Following many years of nursing practice at the bedside, Dr. Sylvia is now an Associate Professor at MUSC College of Nursing and is the founder and CEO of ForestVue Healthcare Solutions. She has many years of experience and wrote the first award-winning Population Health Analytics guidebook. She is also the author of Clinical Analytics and Data Management for the DNP, used by over 70% of DNP programs in the Nation and now in its 3rd edition.

Hancong Tang

Hancong Tang is a Data Scientist in the IT Research & Innovation Division of the Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She is passionate about leveraging statistical and machine learning technologies to improve clinical care and making positive impact on patients' life. Her focus is on the development of predictive algorithms that may be incorporated into clinical and population health workflows to improve children's health outcomes.

Chantel Urban

Chantel came to Children's Hospital Colorado with a Master of Public Health Epidemiology. She is in her third year as Business Intelligence Developer supporting Infectious Disease, Lab, Blood Bank, and Patient Safety areas CLABSI and CAUTI, as well as being the analytics security lead. She works closely with her users to develop end to end solutions from back-end queries to visualizations for daily workflows and external data submissions.

Joe Van Duren

Joe Van Duren has worked as a statistical analyst for Intermountain Health supporting the Musculoskeletal and Neurosciences Clinical Programs since graduating from the University of Utah in 2021 with his MStat in Biostatistics. He completed his undergraduate in public health at Brigham Young University-Idaho where he also studied music as a cellist. There he met a talented flautist. They are married with 3 kids and 10 chickens. Raised in Colorado, Joe has a love for nature and is an avid mountaineer, summitting several of the tallest peaks in the Intermountain West during all seasons. He has a passion for the Intermountain Health mission: helping people live the healthiest lives possible.

Sarah Vande Loo

Sarah Vande Loo is the Director of Data Literacy in the Center for Digital Health at Mayo Clinic. Sarah has served in many roles in healthcare over the years, but most recently is specializing in ways to advance the organization’s ability to evaluate, construct and communicate meaning with data.

Jiby Varghese

Jiby has held a number of high-tech management positions in the Emerald City over the past 18 years.

He is currently the Director of Data Analytics Infrastructure at Seattle Children's Hospital, one of the best in the northwest region. Jiby joined SCH from Expedia, a $20B travel company. During his 7 years at SCH, he helped pioneer fully automated, self-healing, multi-tenant, scalable, and secure massively parallel processing systems for analytics which includes hospital, research, and foundation. Jiby has also helped build homegrown security frameworks and three applications which enabled him to run a very lean DevOps and Engineering team. His security framework was one of the key enablers for attaining HIMSS 7 AMAM certification for SCH.

Jiby earned an MSC from Staffordshire University, UK, and a Postgraduate Degree in Information Technology, India. While not at work he is a hobby farmer producing organic fruits and vegetables, a music student, a motorcycle rider, and most importantly a dad and a husband.

Irina Viviano

Irina joined the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Clinical and Translational Science Institute in early 2020 as part of the Informatics Team. She works to support the research mission by providing tools and data to researchers with a particular focus on enhancing the self-service capabilities of the Translational Data Warehouse (TDW). Her background is in math and computer science, and she received her MS in computer science from Wake Forest University.

Sarah Wagner

Sarah Wagner is the Lead Data Analyst in the Data Collaboration team. She leads a team of 5 other data analysts to serve as administrators for NCH’s EDC systems (REDCap, OpenClinica). Together they ensure all users adhere to institutional IT security policies and all regulations governing the use of human subject data for research when utilizing the EDC systems. She has 5 years of experience extracting data from different internal and external data sources like Epic, PHIS, PEDSnet etc. for multi-sites studies and Data Science projects.

Joe Warbington

Joe Warbington is an Industry Principal for the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice at Snowflake, focusing on solutions and strategies for healthcare providers and health systems. He has worked with health technologies and data for over 17 years, starting at Epic, then Qlik Healthcare, and Vizlib / Astrato. He is passionate about population health and reducing clinician burnout.

Ed Wasserman

Ed Wasserman is a Solutions Architect within the Analytics Resource Center at Children's Hospital Colorado. Ed has worked in Healthcare IT for 23 years, before fully jumping into analytics by joining CHCO in 2019, he was a Mumps and C# developer for a small consulting shop. In his free time, you will find him playing in the mountains, and he'll probably try to take you rock climbing.

Laura Wiley

Dr. Laura Wiley is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Chief Data Scientist of Health Data Compass at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Her work focuses on computational phenotyping and other informatics methodologies for clinical evidence generation in support of precision medicine. She is an active educator directing the Coursera Clinical Data Science Specialization - a series of 6 MOOCs providing hands on training in clinical research informatics. She is also a national leader in the American Medical Informatics Association serving as Vice Chair of the 2023 AMIA Annual Symposium.

Donna Williams

Donna Williams has over 25 years' experience in data analytics, reporting, development, and governance within the payment processing and finance industries.She moved to into the health services industry four years ago with a primary focus on data governance and data trust. Within her current role, Donna's focus has extensively involved creating a platform for data literacy via data governance practices and principles.

Jeff Young

Jeff is the Director of Advanced Analytics at the University of Utah Health, where he has worked for 10 years. He enjoys working on projects around operational efficiency and working with all the great care givers in the Utah Health system. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors Degree then a Masters Degree in Economics.
